USG is hosting a book release party for USG member Lori Tharps’ new book entitled Same Family, Different Colors: Confronting Colorism In America’s Diverse Families. The book is published by Beacon Press, a UU publisher; and the topic of this book fits well with the UU philosophy and more specifically with the mission of USG. Lori will be doing a short reading from the book, followed by a Q&A with Rev. Kent. A reception and book signing will immediately follow.

Lori has written prolifically on issues of race and ethnicity and teaches journalism at Temple University. She has been interviewed on NPR multiple times and has a significant following locally and nationally. This book launch will be a truly special event for USG and Unitarian Universalism.
