4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join us in Standing in Solidarity for Racial Justice
on Tuesday and Fridays, weather permitting and not on holidays. The time changed to 4-5pm after the return to standard time.
Bring your signs or we have some to share. This is a peaceful, family-friendly event, and the 14th district police have been informed. Participants need to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Contact Mary Kalyna or Sarah Frazier at firstname.lastname@example.org
On FRIDAYS, we gather before the vigil for reflection and centering on the purpose of what we are doing. The idea was initiated by vigil regular Lorraine Appelbaum, a member of the Bahai Community, who writes: “While each of us arrives with their heart and mind prepared, there is a special power in coming together.” We meet in the grove behind the church at 3:40pm, 20 minutes before the start of the vigil on Fridays. Readings for reflection from various faith traditions will be available, and you are more than welcome to bring your own. Silence is also invited. We will observe the church’s COVID safety protocols, which at this time include physical distancing and wearing masks.
