Racism Book/Study Group on Zoom

7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

For September we are reading Me and White Supremacy by Layla Saad. We are meeting every week or two for this book.

All are welcome. Please do the reading before the session.

The Group began in July 2018. It is sharing and listening until everyone has had a chance to share once and then discussion. All are welcome and asked to do the reading in advance. We have read UUs of Color, Centering and Black Pioneers in a White Denomination and Darkening the Doorways: Black Trailblazers and Missed Opportunities in Unitarian Universalism by Mark Morrison-Reed, White Rage by Carol Anderson,  Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram Kendi, Think Black by Clyde Ford, Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid and How We Fight White Supremacy by Akiba Solomon and Kenrya Rankin. We also spent several months on the White Supremacy Culture document. These books are all available from the Ending Racism Committee Library.

Treva Burger facilitates the group, email bookstudy@usguu.org with questions or to receive the zoom link.
