Racism Book/Study Group on Zoom

Racism Book Study usually meets on second Mondays, but for July and August, we will meet once on August 1. We will read The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans.  Email bookstudy@usguu.org for the link.

The Group began in July 2018. All are welcome and asked to do the reading in advance. We have read UUs of Color, Centering and Black Pioneers in a White Denomination and Darkening the Doorways: Black Trailblazers and Missed Opportunities in Unitarian Universalism by Mark Morrison-Reed, White Rage by Carol Anderson,  Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram Kendi, Think Black by Clyde Ford, Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid, How We Fight White Supremacy by Akiba Solomon and Kenrya Rankin, Me and White Supremacy by Layla Saad, Disgruntled by Asali Solomon, An Indigenous People’s History of the US by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem, The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, Caste by Isabel Wilkerson, The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris and The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones. We also spent several months on the White Supremacy Culture document. These books are all available from the Ending Racism Committee Library.

Treva Burger facilitates the group, email bookstudy@usguu.org with questions or to receive the zoom link.
