Hymnody of Earth, USG choir and soloists with guest musician Cliff Cole and Music Director Mark Daugherty

What better way to honor Mother Earth on Mother’s Day than with a presentation of Hymnody of Earth? This deeply spiritual work is a musical setting, by the American composer Malcolm Dalglish, of writings by the American poet Wendell Berry. Berry writes from the perspective of a man close to the earth and shares his spirituality which is grounded in reverence for nature. The work will be accompanied by Cliff Cole on his special hammer dulcimer, an instrument of rural America.

We apologize for mistakenly describing Mr. Berry in earlier postings as “African American.” Thank you to the people who saw the error and let us know.
