Traditionally, Beltane in Ireland was the first day of summer and brought with it the relief that came with the people knowing that they had made it through another harsh winter. They honored their dead, as the veil between the realms were thin on the night of April 30 to the dawn of May 1, and then they got on with living, gathering together, and planting.

This May Day, let us honor this earth-based tradition by worshipping with EarthSpirit Circle of USG in beloved community and by literally planting sunflower seeds immediately after service.

Mrs. Latifah Griffin-Rogers is a recent graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary with a Master’s Degree in Divinity, adding to her Master’s Degree from Neumann University in Pastoral Care and Counseling. She is our intern for the 2020-22 church years. USG is her second direct field learning experience. Her first internship was at Nemour’s Dupont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She also works at Thomas Jefferson University in the Student Counseling Center.
