Finding Gratefulness in a Broken World, Rabbi Linda Holtzman

A day for giving thanks in our calendar is approaching and the holiday itself is emblematic of the brokenness at the heart of our country. In today’s world, there is so much violence, pain, heartbreak, that it’s almost impossible to feel deep gratitude for the beauty and wonder and gifts of the world. Finding a way to access that deep appreciation and gratefulness can make all the difference in our lives.

Rabbi Linda Holtzman is the rabbi of the Tikkun Olam Chavurah, a Jewish spiritual community that is dedicated to social and political justice work. She teaches at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
