We have been taught in the Judeo-Christian creation story that Eve was created as a “helper” to Adam and therefore subordinate. As Andrea Durham will share, the actual words used to describe Eve are “Ezer Kenegdo”. “Ezer”, translated “helper”, is more accurately described as rescuer/savior or to be strong, and is also used to describe the Judeo-Christian God. “Kenegdo” is translated as opposite, corresponding or match. This means that Eve was not created subordinate or subservient, but rather as a powerful, capable, equal partner. What if we viewed Eve as a warrior instead of a servant? Come find out more.
