Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, Rev. Kent Matthies

Sometimes you just have to belt it out and sing songs of jubilation. This holiday season, let us sing, dance, tell jokes, laugh, hug (virtually and in person …when safe), and embrace joy. We have Hannakuh, Solstice, Christmas and Kwanzaa. Joy to the World. All the boys and girls. Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea. Joy to you and me. BTW: doesn’t it seem like this Three Dog Night classic should be a holiday song!?

A life-long Unitarian Universalist, Kent came to USG in 2002, bringing a vision for the church to “empower people as disciples of love.” Among his other responsibilities as lead minister he preaches 2 or 3 times per month. He also represents Unitarian Universalism in the community. Kent lives in the Mt. Airy neighborhood of Philadelphia with his wife Kristin and their two sons. For more, see his bio on the Staff Page.
