Lesley Pearl is a fifth-year student at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote and serves as the inaugural Rabbinic Intern for the Faith Leaders Team of the Pennsylvania Poor People’s Campaign. At 25, while dating a rabbinical student, she mused, “I wouldn’t be a very good rebbitsin (rabbi’s wife), but I’d be a great rabbi.” At 50, she moved to Philadelphia and began her rabbinic training.

Lesley has worked as a newspaper reporter, massage therapist, and ESL teacher. A wanderer by nature, she has called Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Madrid, and her native Detroit “home.” Lesley is an avid thrifter and enjoys all flavors of ice cream. She lives with her partner David in the Fitler Square neighborhood of Philadelphia.
