Rev. Naomi Washington-Leapheart is a gifted, inspiring preacher. She will be speaking on diversity and social justice. From 2019 to 2023, Rev. Naomi was the director of faith-based and interfaith affairs for the City of Philadelphia where she headed an intensive 4-day course in January 2023 targeting Philadelphia faith-based communities to make the case for Reparations for Black citizens in the US.  Over ninety people from local churches, meetings, synagogues, and mosques attended including five USG members.  In April, she joined Political Research Associates, a social justice think tank that researches and publicizes the agendas and strategies of the U.S. and Global Right wing of politics, tracking intersections of Christian nationalism, White nationalism, and patriarchy within politics. She is also an adjunct professor in Villanova’s Department of Theology and Religion since 2016.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004 and subsequently worked in education, until she felt called to ministry around the time the Black Lives Matter movement was forming. She earned her Master of Divinity degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 2016. She has been Faith Outreach Director at the National LGBTQ Task Force and the suburban community organizer for POWER. She also served as Co-Pastor and Minister of Music at the Wisdom’s Table at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ. She is affiliated with the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries and the United Church of Christ.
