General Assembly (GA) 2026

General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA), where participants gather to worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy decisions for the Association through a democratic process. Each congregation can send 1 delegate per 50 members to vote on issues before the association. Since Covid, GA has alternated between in person and virtual. This is a virtual year, but this year they are trying out something new.
The business meetings will be all virtual Sunday June 14 from 4-6pm, Monday and Tuesday June 15 and 16, from 12-6:30pm with breaks from 3-5. USG is planning to host watch parties and is seeking 6 delegates to represent USG. You could also watch from home, these sessions are publicly available, but only delegates can vote. USG can pay for your registration if you serve as a delegate. If you would be willing to serve as a delegate, please email denominationalaffairs@usguu.org.
The rest of GA: worship, learning and celebration will occur Friday, Saturday, Sunday: June 19 from 8-9:30pm, June 20 from 11am to 9pm with breaks from 12:30-2pm and 6- 8pm, and on June 21 there will be a Community Sing from 10:30am to 11 and Sunday worship willk be 11am-1230pm. USG is working on coordinating with local congregations to share the hosting of watch parties. You must be registered to attend these sessions.
Registration is $350 through April after which it goes up to $450.
The UUA is also offering a Studio Site and Satellite Sites if you will be traveling anyway or have friends or relatives in any of these places and would like to try other experiences being offered.
The Studio Site: Where GA Comes Together Live
The Studio Site offers an opportunity to be part of the live audience for GA 2026 at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY. This is where core GA programming is produced and streamed, bringing together the largest in-person gathering of participants who want to experience GA together and share in the energy of the event. For many, being in the room where it’s happening brings a strong sense of presence, shared purpose, and collective momentum.
GA Satellite Sites: Connection Without the Long Trip
Satellite Sites offer a way to experience GA in person with others, without traveling to the Studio Site. These gatherings bring together dozens of participants in congregational spaces to watch GA programming, share meals and conversation, and worship side by side.
We are grateful to the congregations who responded to our open call to host a Satellite Site and graciously extended their sacred spaces, time and leadership to make this possible.,
- Alabama: UU Church of Birmingham
- Connecticut: UU Congregation in Westport
- Massachusetts: First Church Boston
- New Jersey: UU Congregation at Montclair
- New York: First Unitarian Church of Rochester
Satellite Sites are a convenient option if you want to be in community while staying closer to home.
And they’re encouraging Community Gatherings, which is what we’re planning to do:
Community Gatherings: Showing Up Locally Together
Community Gatherings invite people to experience GA alongside others in their local area, often hosted by a congregation or group that opens its doors for shared viewing, conversation, and connection.
Benefits of Community Gatherings:
-A chance to strengthen relationships within your congregation
-In-person connection without travel expenses
-Flexibility to design the weekend that works for your group
-A welcoming option for families and first-time GA participants
