ERC Field Trip: Historic Germantown

Barbara Dowdall is leading an Ending Racism Committee field trip to Historic Germantown, connected to book Bright April, by Marguerite de Angeli. We will visit childhood sites of the title character, April Bright, a 9 year old fictional Brownie Scout (1946), beginning at 5820 Germantown Ave (former YWCA) at 11:00 am and ends with a guided tour of the exhibit “Inspiring Bright April: Race and Class in 1940s Germantown“ at 5501 Germantown Ave., Historic Germantown. If you prefer to skip the first part of the tour, please meet at Historic Germantown at 12, and please let Barbara know of your plan. Children are welcome.
