Video Project #2 for Adults 18 and Older:
A Place Here for Us All
Make a short (30 seconds or less) video (or a montage of up to 10 photos) that conveys what USG means to you. Show us what you find here and what you give here. Collaborate with acquaintances, friends, or committee members to capture your mutual efforts. See if you can do it visually, without narration.
We’ll compile the submissions into a montage for a future stewardship campaign. All adult members and friends are invited to participate.
Emily Joy Goldberg’s music and lyrics (below) will be the soundtrack. They might inspire your creation.
Details: Make your submission via Dropbox or in-person during Social Hour. Multiple submissions are encouraged. Contact Christine Ginsburg (cginsburg123@gmail.com) for more information. Deadline: May 21, 2017 (a long time, but don’t delay!)

A Place Here for Us All
by Emily Joy Goldberg
Many years ago on a summer day, I heard of this lovely place.
I came to sing, to lend my voice, And to rest from life’s hard race.
Through all the early trials of life, searching to build something more,
A circle of minds reached out to me, when I walked through that open door.
When I started a family of my own, buried in things unknown,
Someone came to guide, to feed, to hold- I knew I was not alone.
Now my children jump and dance and sing. I know I can’t keep score
Of the helping hands reaching out to us, when we walk through that open door.
I dream of a day my girls set out, wondering what to do,
Wondering where to go, when they feel unmoored, when everything is new.
They will know where to find these kindred souls to help face what life’s got in store-
They’ll find a circle of hearts reaching out, as they walk through that open door.
(chorus)
Though I walk- though I wander, falter and fall,
There’s a place for me in this circle, there’s a place here for us all.
