Send your titles to endingracsim@usguu.org by March 1 and join us for lunch on March 9 to share and hear what others read.
National African American Read-In takes place in schools, bookshops, libraries, congregations, community and professional groups, and interested people are encouraged to share readings by African American poets, dramatists, and authors. Well over 5.9 million throughout the globe have participated in this campaign since its beginning. This may be as basic as gathering friends to discuss the book they read, or as sophisticated as organizing and attending public readings and media presentations with professional African American authors. For example, Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books, a local Black owned bookstore, hosts events throughout the month. For details, go to www.unclebobbies.com/events.
The Unitarian Society of Germantown has participated in the month long read-in since 2019.
