Join us for USG’s 11th Annual Diwali Celebration, the Festival of Lights!

Rangoli made at One God One World Street Art, October 1, 2017

6:00pm Diwali Vegetarian Feast

7:00pm Diwali program:

  • Bharatanatyam Dance Performance by Usiloquy Dance Designs
  • Sitar Performance by Thomas Wave & Raji Malik
  • Diwali Diya Lighting & Rangoli Making* (Rangoli is an art originating in India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. See image.)

Led by Rev. Kent Matthies & Andrea Durham, this celebration is FREE and open to the public. For information, contact Andrea Durham at akdurham@yahoo.com

The light that Andrea Durham reminded us recently that we all have within and we all can spread, she herself is spreading. She will be distributing Diwali diyas like those you received last Sunday to neighboring UU congregations and Philadelphia public officials as gifts from USG. The hope is to bring us all into the paradigm of Diwali and inspire us to thoughts and acts of light, good, knowledge and hope. The goal is that the rising spiritual tide will lift all boats.
