Stormy Covid Blues, Rev. Kent Matthies

Playing their big guitars with vulnerable emotionality, BB King and T-Bone Walker sang, “They call it stormy Monday, but Tuesday’s just as bad.”  With Covid blues it can seem that day after day has potential of an emotional storm.   With Covid blues we can feel like singing along with Mr. King and Mr. Walker, “Lord, have mercy on me.”   Taking time to acknowledge melancholy and sadness allows us to experience more of our full humanity.  Rather than hitting unhealthy escape hatches – singing, crying, laughing and dancing the blues can help us move through our lives.Â
