With newborns in their arms, mothers begin telling stories. As little ones grow, mothers tell stories about their child.  As the children grow, we tell stories about our mothers. Some valuable stories get lost and merit reclaiming and retelling, while some stories are not helpful. We do better to discard or reframe. Regardless, the power of story can establish and direct us in mysterious and splendid ways.
