Social Justice Movie and Discussion

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Part 3 of the Film, Making a Killing: Guns, Greed, and the NRA
The Social Justice Committee has shown three of the five segments of the film Making a Killing. On Monday, September 12, we will be showing the final two segments. Each of the segments stands alone, so you do not have to have seen the previous segments to attend this showing. Following the film, we will be having a discussion about how gun violence has affected our lives and what can be done to stop the killing.State Representative Madeleine Dean, chair of the Pennsylvania SAFE Caucus, will be joining us.
The film features personal stories from people across the country who have been affected by gun violence, including survivors and victims’ families. The film exposes how the powerful gun companies and the NRA are resisting responsible legislation for the sake of profit – and thereby putting people in danger. Most importantly, the film presents information on what we can do to put an end to this profit driven crisis.
