A New Music Director for USG!

“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” Plato

Dear fellow members and friends of the Unitarian Society of Germantown,

We are delighted to announce that we have a new Music Director at the Unitarian Society of Germantown. Please join us in welcoming Baker Purdon, who will be introduced by Reverend Cheryl M. Walker at the Worship Service this Sunday, October 16, 2022. We hope you can meet Baker in person, as the words in this letter can hardly capture our enthusiasm.

Baker Purdon is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at Temple University in music education and choral conducting. He comes to us with a wealth of experience, a love for making meaningful music, and a commitment to help us reach our goal of creating a diverse and vibrant music program for all ages.

We hope you will all join the Music Committee in welcoming Baker to the Unitarian Society of Germantown. We encourage every one to get to know him and to participate in making music for and with USG.

With gratitude and excitement,

Lois Murphy and Rev. Cheryl M. Walker
on behalf of the Music Director Search Committee:
