Breathe-Mindfulness Class

5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

BREATHE – A new weekly program of mindfulness classes led by trained meditation teachers, presented by the Adult Spiritual Development Committee’s new Center for Mindfulness at the Unitarian Society of Germantown.

Classes to be held every Sunday, starting October 10, through December 29, from 5:00-6:30 PM.

There is no fee for the classes, but Dana (Donations to the teachers) are greatly appreciated.

Topics of Course Sessions include:

Mindful Self-Compassion – Release yourself from self judgement and learn to practice self-care and self-love. Based on the work of Kristen Neff and Chris Germer.

Buddhism in Action – How to combine the compassion of the Buddha and the belief in social justice of Unitarian Universalism into sacred activism.

Interpersonal Mindfulness – Experience how mindfulness can deepen our self-understanding and enhance our relationships.

You vs. Desires and Cravings – Wrestling the Monsters – Finding relief from addictive or compulsive  behaviors, whether it’s social media, overeating, drinking, and/or substance abuse.

This is a really wonderful opportunity for beginners and experienced meditators in the USG community to gain insight and find ways to bring more peace and harmony into their lives.
