Nothing but a Man depicts the lives of black people in an Alabama town around 1963. The film shows how a couple, a railroad worker and a preacher’s daughter, handles overt racial hatred as they navigate family tensions. They must also endure violent threats against themselves as well as witness threats to the whites who protect them.
