Exploring Elderhood-Rescheduled

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

For June, we’ll be in the Grove (weather permitting) or Sullivan Chapel

SONGS AND ICE CREAM?

Ice cream could be on the menu as we share thoughts on the topic of music in worship. St. Augustine has been credited with saying “Those who sing pray twice.” The saying has resonated with many who make a practice of worship. How has our understanding of worship changed from our childhood? How about prayer? Do the songs we learned early on still have meaning? If you were asked for the most powerful song you knew, would it be a hymn, a spiritual, a classical composition, a folk song, a rap?  Bring a song to share! You don’t have to be old to explore Elderhood.

This program meets once a month, every 2nd Friday at 2PM, currently on Zoom. Its purpose is to celebrate the path, with emphasis on the spiritual path, of all who are aging (that’s all of us!) but especially those who consider themselves Elders (or wannabe Elders) and is open USG members, guest and visitors with no minimum age.

Zoom invitations always go to the whole email list. If you are not getting invitations and want to join us, email elderhood@usguu.org with Subject: Join Elders. No two programs are the same; come and see what the Elders are up to this time!
