POWER State Political Education Symposium

7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

POWER (Pennsylvanian’s Organized to Witness, Empower and Rebuild) is excited to invite you to their first State Political Education Symposium: The first step on the road to realizing a vision for a just, democratic and sustainable Pennsylvania is educating ourselves on the issues, where we are in the process, and how to navigate through our political environment to accomplish our goals. We want to emPOWER you. The symposium will consist of three parts starting March 18th from 7 PM to 9 PM, virtually by Zoom. The following sessions will take place on April 8th and 29th, same time.

Session 1: Defend our Democracy; we will challenge our preconceived notions about what change is possible in our state, and explore the roles of elected officials in bringing about the changes we desire. In breakout groups, we will discuss voter suppression, moral budgets, state and local government structure. Get a better understanding of gerrymandering, mail-in ballot restrictions, and redistricting. There will be games and interactive ways to learn and get activated!

Registration is required and can be completed easily here.
