Racism Book/Study Group on Zoom

For June, we are starting American Apartheid by Stephanie Woodard.  We will read the Introduction and chapter 1.

The Group began in July 2018. All are welcome and asked to do the reading in advance. We have read UUs of Color, Centering, Black Pioneers in a White Denomination and Darkening the Doorways: Black Trailblazers and Missed Opportunities in Unitarian Universalism by Mark Morrison-Reed, White Rage by Carol Anderson,  Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram Kendi, Think Black by Clyde Ford, Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid, How We Fight White Supremacy by Akiba Solomon and Kenrya Rankin, Me and White Supremacy by Layla Saad, Disgruntled by Asali Solomon, An Indigenous People’s History of the US by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, My Grandmother’s Hands by Resmaa Menakem, The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, Caste by Isabel Wilkerson, The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris, The 1619 Project by Nikole Hannah-Jones, The Office of Historical Corrections and Before You Suffocate Your Own Fool Self by Danielle Evans and The Love Songs of WEB DuBois by Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Ten Lives, Ten Demands by Solomon Jones, and Do the Work by W. Kamau Bell and Kate Schatz, and The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. We also spent several months on the White Supremacy Culture document. Most of these books are all available from the Ending Racism Committee Library.
