The Shift the Narrative Project, will hold a Town Hall on changing how the media communicates issues affecting Black and Brown communities, particularly in relation to criminal justice. The first of several Live Free-facilitated symposiums inviting area journalists to discuss how news coverage is decided and shaped, how voices are chosen, how context is determined, and what images are sought and used in coverage. The symposiums will explore how coverage of gun violence and trauma impacts people and explore ways to offer truthful and transparent coverage that minimizes harm to people and communities being covered.
