USG Medical Emergency Response Orientation

12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

In the event of a true medical emergency, the first thing to do is call 911. But in addition to that, things can be done right here at USG that can be helpful and in some cases, literally life-saving. Cardiac arrest, uncontrolled bleeding, severe allergic reaction, opioid overdose – these are situations where immediate treatment that can be provided by anyone can make the difference between life and death.

Emergency physician Gerry Whelan will tell you what kinds of emergencies may occur and what you can do for them. You will learn of all the resources that have been assembled to treat emergencies, where to find them and how to use them. No medical training required; this is geared to the “prudent layperson,” you. We take care of each other and anyone at USG.
