A Wonderful Experience Awaits You

This weekend getaway is a unique opportunity to play, exercise, and relax together with old and new friends. It is a time of real vacation without having to cook, set the table, make the coffee, wash the dishes or hover over the kids.

Play, Exercise, Chill

The Camp Canadensis setting in the beautiful Pocono Mountains along Lake Lenape, a private 75-acre lake, offers many ways to enjoy this weekend with our UU community. Take a hike on one of the 13 miles of nature trails, grab a friend and kayak or canoe out onto the lake, take a dip in the heated outdoor pool or simply sit on the deck overlooking the lake and read a book.

For quieter moments, participate in a group meditation or join our traditional Water Ceremony where we refresh our spirituality through the loving community and beautiful surroundings. Join an early morning yoga class or create your own discussion group or activity. Rain or shine, we are covered with a variety of pavilions, a 100-seat movie theater, art studio, and more.

Lots of Activities

There are tons of activities throughout the weekend for all ages looking for active sports around the lake, on the fields, in the pool and other camp facilities.

The fun continues into the evenings with our special evening activities:

  • Saturday night Fireside Group Sing-along (Bring your musical instruments too.)
  • Sunday night’s highly anticipated Annual Talent Show
  • Late Night Karaoke, 21 and over

Convenient Travel Schedule

The Weekend Schedule makes getting to Canadensis much easier. We can arrive at camp anytime after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, allowing everyone to travel north after the holiday traffic has thinned out. Traveling on Saturday afternoon also avoids conflicts with Friday sports and other activities. On Labor Day Monday, we head home after a nice lunch and maybe a swim. Some follow the tradition of making a stop at the Dairy Queen or other ice cream shop on the way. You should get home with plenty of time to unpack.
