Bus Trip to African-American Museum in DC

6:30 am - 8:30 pm

UU Church of the Restoration, 6900 Stenton Ave. at Gorgas Lane, Philadelphia has organized a group trip to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.  We have secured free tickets to the museum, and a bus to take us there!  We will leave UUCR around 6:30am, stay all day at the museum, leave DC at 5 to 5:30pm and  be back by 8:30pm. The bus will be air conditioned and have a bathroom. Participants are encouraged to bring food for the bus, You may also bring food in secure containers for eating outside after 1pm .  The Sweet Home Café is open all day, serves lunch 11-3.   entrees are $8-$18.  See https://nmaahc.si.edu/ for details. It will be a long day 10am-5pm with a lot of walking.  It may be a challenge for younger kids or people with limited mobility. You can leave, but there is no re-entry before 1pm.
