MLK Day of Service

8:00 am - 1:00 pm

2018 is our 22nd year celebrating the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr with the MLK Day of Service. It is a wonderful opportunity to affirm our support for the values of justice and compassion exemplified by the life and legacy of Dr. King. We celebrate Dr. King’s legacy by working together to serve our communities in and around Germantown/East Falls.

Every year for over two decades, more than 500 volunteers have come to the Unitarian Society of Germantown, on Lincoln Drive at Wayne Avenue, to participate in MLK Day of Service Projects both on-site (at the church) and off-site (at locations near the church).

After check in and a light breakfast, we have a  brief non-denominational worship service at 9AM.  Then volunteers leave for their projects at 9:30 AM. Projects last for varying amounts of time. Most are completed before 12:30 PM.
